Bookcases
Standard case (inside) depth is 11" (some companies have gone to 8 or 9"); the overall depth item varies according to style...it is at least 12". Custom depth is available for an upcharge.
Our American Craftsman Bookcases feature:
-American made.
-Plywood core. Pine is sold pine.
-doors are available...see store for details.
-custom width and height is/are available...see store for details.
-faces of bookcase is pocket hole screwed, then glued to the plywood case (box), not built around the case. The faces could be removed from the case, and the case will not collapse.
-plywood back panel for more strength, again for above reason and effect
-bottom shelf (is not counted as a shelf, in shelf count)... is dadoed for strength.
-all tops are finished (including the 84" and 94" tall).
Shelves:
-Adjustable
-plywood core here as well
-brass shelf pegs (not cheap plastic)
-faced/trimed with solid piece of wood (oak, cherry, or maple). Pine is solid shelve.
-48" wide bookcases are split in half...unit has a center divider for shelve strength
